Miriam "Mim" Evans has been a Research Specialist at CGS for four years. Prior to that she was executive director of a nonprofit downtown development organization and evaluated the economic feasibility of real estate projects with a national consulting firm. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

At CGS, Mim works on projects involving economic development for small and mid-sized cities, downtown revitalization, tourism and recreation related growth planning. According to Mim, the two most important things people should know about CGS are: 1. More important than having all the answers, is knowing how to find them. CGS has a varied staff and the resources to provide community leaders with the guidance needed to make informed decisions; And 2. CGS provides objective advisory services utilizing the most current thinking on the issues confronting communities, organizations and businesses.

Mim and her family love the outdoors and spent many years living in Denver where she worked on projects throughout the Rocky Mountain region before relocating to Illinois.
